About the position

The Youth First Program Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing and directing the successful development and implementation of assigned programs aimed at providing evidence-based substance abuse prevention for youth and their families. The PM collaborates with community partners, schools, and committees to achieve programming objectives and is eligible for remote work after demonstrating satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Attain a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certification within two years of employment.
  • Complete training in Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) and Youth First prevention programs.
  • Advise the Program Director on coalition and project activities.
  • Motivate program staff, volunteers, and collaborators to achieve goals.
  • Participate in community meetings within assigned service areas.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with partners and key leaders.
  • Track monthly expenditures for assigned programs and report to the Program Director.
  • Prepare grant applications and funding proposals in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Grants Manager.
  • Work with the Director of Programs and independent evaluator to prepare and present program evaluation data.
  • Assist in assessing and tracking community needs to guide program priorities and decision-making.
  • Coordinate and implement assigned Youth First programs with attention to quality, fidelity, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Raise awareness about Youth First through community planning group participation and presentations.
  • Develop relationships with schools, churches, community organizations, and potential partners.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend program and partnership opportunities.
  • Participate in fundraising events and other Youth First community events.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as youth development, education, social services, marketing, communications, or business.
  • Minimum of three years in non-profit experience, youth development work, grant management, and substance abuse prevention experience.
