About the position

The Youth Mental Health Technician at Northway Academy, part of the Sevita family, is responsible for providing center-based Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disabilities. This role focuses on supporting the developmental, learning, physical, and emotional needs of children, working closely with a clinical team to implement therapeutic and behavioral plans. Responsibilities

  • Run therapeutic and behavioral plans, and provide early intervention to increase social and self-management skills.
  • Provide guidance on a range of developmental goals from communication, exercise and nutrition to academic skills to assist with school readiness.
  • Support individuals with learning and maintaining personal skills such as hygiene, grooming, and/or toileting.
  • Teach and model interpersonal and social skills to help individuals thrive in their communities.
  • Provide assistance using strategies to properly manage and redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master's degree in a mental health field.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields and have 6,000 hours of clinical experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services.
  • Enrolled in or hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy).
  • Hold an associate's degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields and at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.
  • Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and have 4,000 hours of supervised clinical experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluent in a non-English speaking language or certified by a tribal nation.
