About the position

The Youth Mentor position at Mentoring Alliance is a temporary, part-time role focused on leading and guiding campers through daily activities during the summer camps. This role emphasizes a ministry-minded approach, aiming to influence and serve children in the community while fostering their spiritual and personal development. Youth Mentors will engage in Bible study, activity classes, meals, and worship times, making a significant impact on the lives of the campers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of campers through their daily program including Bible study, activity classes, meals, and worship times.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to elementary school-aged children.
• Exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
• Influence and impact the kids and families in the community.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred, along with some post-secondary training.
• Passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday during the summer months.
• Dependable transportation is required.
• Ability to earn mandatory CPR/First Aid certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is greatly valued.
• Experience working with youth for at least 1 year is preferred.
• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
