About the position

The Youth Program Coordinator Internship at Des Moines Menace offers an opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in event management and youth program coordination within a professional soccer organization. This paid, full-time summer internship involves assisting with various youth programs, managing registrations, leading marketing efforts, and supporting the growth of soccer in the community.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the Des Moines Menace youth programs including Junior Menace, Just for Girls tournaments, and summer camps.
• Managing registration platforms for youth programs.
• Lead marketing efforts for youth programs.
• Develop relationships with local youth clubs to support the growth of soccer.
• Assisting in the management of website and social media initiatives to promote youth programs.
• Organize logistics for summer camps including staff scheduling, equipment management, and communications to participants.
• Work Menace home matches in May - August, including game day set up, servicing fans, and post-game tear down.
• Assist with pre-season events such as Open Cup, Just for Girls Spring Tournament, and spring Junior Menace as available.
• Maintain confidentiality for sensitive club information.
• Other projects and duties as directed by Menace Soccer Operations Manager.

Requirements

• A passion for sports and knowledge of the game of soccer is preferred.
• Ability to lift 5/10/25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to be detail oriented, problem solve, and communicate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects at a time with tight deadlines.
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Proven team player who is willing to work long days, nights, and weekends.
