About the position

The Youth Program Coordinator (part-time) at Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County is responsible for developing and implementing engaging STEM programs for youth aged 6-18. This role focuses on creating a positive environment that promotes youth achievement and well-being, while also ensuring the safety and quality of programs offered. The coordinator will work closely with members, providing guidance and role modeling, and will be involved in administrative tasks related to program planning and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare youth for success by creating an environment that facilitates achievement and promotes program participation.
  • Register new members and participate in their Club orientation process.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to members while maintaining discipline among youth participants.
  • Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety and quality, maintaining proper records for planning and reflection.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement various programs using internal and external resources.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid State Driver's License with little or no violations.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Experience in youth development and working with children.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree with courses in education, recreation, psychology, or sociology preferred.
  • Knowledge of youth development and ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Commitment to gender equity issues and willingness to work in multicultural settings.
