About the position

The Youth Program Site Coordinator at Edna Martin Christian Center (EMCC) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Leadership & Legacy Youth Program within partnering Indianapolis schools. This role ensures the program's integrity and quality, supports administrative tasks, facilitates communication, and provides direct services to youth. The Site Coordinator acts as the representative of EMCC, embodying its values and priorities to school administrators, students, teachers, and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the academic needs of youth are met and implement corresponding homework help and lesson plans.
  • Collect and enter academic grades and scores into program-specific data systems.
  • Oversee daily data collection such as attendance and payments.
  • Work closely with the Youth Program Assistant Director and Youth Program Director to provide meaningful alternatives for youth.
  • Lead on-site staff in implementing educational and recreational activities.
  • Communicate the need for counseling and support services to the Youth Program Assistant Director.
  • Provide direct communication to parents and lead family engagement events.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff and teachers.
  • Oversee the execution of incident and accident reports.
  • Provide transportation home at the end of the program or act as bus/van monitor.
  • Oversee daily snack and meal distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with fire drill standards and procedures.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and well-maintained classrooms and vehicles.
  • Work with participants to value EMCC and school resources.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years' experience in youth services.
  • Computer literate in Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Willingness to undergo fingerprinting/background check, drug screening, and First Aid/CPR training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in childcare or school-age youth programming preferred.
