About the position

The APEX Team Member position involves working with elementary schools in Washington State to create engaging and motivational experiences for children while supporting fundraising initiatives. The role focuses on mentoring youth through fun, fitness, and educational activities, delivering leadership lessons, and facilitating fitness events. Team Members will rotate between schools every two weeks, inspiring students and promoting a positive environment.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and interact with students during recess and classroom activities.
• Present brief scripted leadership lessons in classrooms.
• Facilitate fitness-focused events such as Fun Runs or Glow in the Dark Fitness Events.
• Create excitement and enthusiasm on school campuses during program periods.
• Serve as a role model of encouragement and fun for students.

Requirements

• Experience in recreation, education services, or youth development (teaching, coaching, mentoring, camp counselor, etc.) preferred.
• Ability to connect with children and demonstrate patience and excitement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills to maintain focus in chaotic environments.
• Resourceful and able to modify instructions for students as needed.
• Ability to lift, pull, and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Valid Driver's License and consistent access to transportation.
