About the position
The Youth Services Specialist at the Amelia Branch of the Clermont County Public Library is a part-time role focused on creating and presenting engaging programs for children and teens. This position involves direct customer service, conducting storytimes, and maintaining community partnerships to enhance library services for youth and families.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct library service to people of all ages, with a focus on youth.
- Develop, plan, and conduct a variety of innovative programs for youth and families, both in the library and as outreach to the community.
- Answer reference and reader's advisory questions for all ages using various formats.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Library's collections, technology, services, and trends in library services, particularly for youth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Comprehensive understanding across diverse subjects.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills preferred.
- Proficiency in computer usage, including electronic devices.
- Flexibility to work during days, evenings, and weekends.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Reliable transportation with valid insurance documentation.
