About The Position
The position involves monitoring team sports at the YMCA or off-site locations, teaching the knowledge of the game to youth and adults, and interpreting the rules, policies, and traditions of the game to participants. The role requires a team player who can relate positively to all staff, volunteers, and participants, and who can observe participant and fan behavior, responding to health and safety concerns appropriately. Additionally, the position includes organizing and managing sport setup and cleanup, adjusting and operating sports equipment, and contributing to a superior work culture through participation in training and staff meetings. Staying current with applicable sport rules and regulations is also essential, along with showing enthusiasm for officiating and teaching the game.
