About The Position

The Youth Sports Official Non-Certified position at the O'Fallon MO YMCA involves monitoring team sports, teaching the rules of the game, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants. Requirements

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with school-age children preferred.
• High School or College level knowledge of sports experience preferred.
• Entry level, no certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor team sports at the YMCA or off-site locations.
• Teach the knowledge of the game to youth and adults.
• Interpret the rules, policies, and traditions of the game to participants.
• Observe participant and fan behavior, responding to health and safety concerns.
• Organize and manage sport setup and cleanup activities.
• Adjust and operate sports equipment, including baskets, goals, scoreboards, and sound systems.
• Participate in training and staff meetings to develop leadership and technical skills related to sports.
• Stay current with applicable sport rules and regulations.
• Show enthusiasm about officiating and teaching the knowledge of the game.
• Perform all other duties assigned.
