Responsibilities
- Execute benchmarks to identify hotspots/bottlenecks in the Developer Experience & zOS stack implementation
- Evaluate the performance across the IBM zSW and middleware products
- Suggest and implement platform specific changes/improvements using prototypes as proof points
- Define performance scenarios, test cases/suites, parameters and targets to accomplish as a team
- Identify and suggest tools, utilities, benchmarks and methodologies to evaluate the performance and fine tune the product
- Contribute to performance analysis and study by executing benchmarks and collecting various performance measurements and metrics
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders including research, development, sales, offering, marketing teams to ensure product is highlighted by showcasing performance collaterals
- Work with peer Product Owners, Architects, and Managers to project the status of the tasks at hand as well as propose any implementation changes beneficial to the overall product
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as Performance engineer in working with Middle and Software Applications.
- 8+ years of experience with Performance test, analysis, tuning, optimization and associated performance tools and utilities
- 5+ years of experience in performance analysis and problem determination, quick prototyping and iterative experimentation
- Proven experience in measuring performance of Frontend, Middleware and AI products.
- Excellent programming in Typescript, Javascript, Java, Python (Familiar with PL/X would be advantageous)
- Ability to write/modifying Shell Programs - Bash, KSH, CSH.
- Experience working with install/Build scripts, Makefiles
- Proficient with Linux/Unix development environment (command line development, configuration, libraries,..etc).
- 5+ years of experience as a technical lead to translate requirements into work items (stories).
- Strong Linux system administration (Linux/Unix fundamentals, administration experience.)
- Strong analytical, debugging and problem solving skills to analyse issues and defects reported by customer-facing and test teams.
- Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a global team environment
