About the position

Zee Company, a member of the Vincit Group, is seeking a full-time Area Chemical Sales Manager for our Water and Energy division. This role is pivotal in promoting and selling water treatment services, specifically targeting water in boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater systems. The Area Chemical Sales Manager will be responsible for contacting prospective customers, scheduling appointments to explain the products and services available, inspecting customer water system equipment, and preparing service estimates. The position requires obtaining water samples for field analysis or sending them to the home office for further analysis when necessary. In this role, the manager will create analysis write-ups and contact customers to recommend treatments to control levels of substances in water. Educating customers on the benefits of treatment programs is essential, as is resolving any problems encountered with the customer's water-treatment process. The manager will also sell water-treatment chemicals to customers and perform follow-up tests on water in customer systems, utilizing a test kit and their knowledge of chemical treatment. Explaining test results to customers and observing changes in water analyses to recommend the appropriate chemical additives is a critical function of this position. The Area Chemical Sales Manager will promote and sell water chemical products, estimate service costs, and monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts. They will answer customer inquiries regarding products, prices, availability, and credit terms, emphasizing product features based on customer needs and technical knowledge. Maintaining customer records using automated systems and preparing sales contracts for orders obtained are also key responsibilities. The manager will identify prospective customers through various means, including business directories, leads from existing clients, and participation in trade shows and conferences. Special projects may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospective customers using business directories, leads from existing clients, and participation in trade shows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in experience and education required.
  • 5 years of experience in water treatment required.
  • Strong customer service focus and effective communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5-7 years of experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel highly preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, persuasion, and comprehension skills are beneficial.
  • Mechanical aptitude is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of chemical processes and transformations, including uses of chemicals and their interactions.
