About the position

The Investment Trader at Zions Bank is responsible for trading a variety of financial products to achieve trading profits while fulfilling customer needs. This role involves maintaining profitable positions, exercising discretion in trading decisions, and developing an understanding of capital market trends. The trader will also assist in developing trading strategies and provide investment guidance to customers, contributing to the bank's fee income and profits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of the bank's fee income and profits generated by selling fixed income instruments and money market securities to institutional customers.
• Learn a variety of fixed income products and how to profitably trade them in alignment with the investing goals of bank clientele.
• Gain knowledge about other bank products and services that can increase fee income, such as clearing and safekeeping services, portfolio accounting, and investment advisory services.
• Acquire in-depth information regarding the securities underwritten, securitized, or traded in the secondary market.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1 to 4+ years of directly related experience in trading or financial services.
• Securities Licensing (Series 7) is required.
• Basic knowledge of financial markets, economic news releases, investment instruments, and money market securities.
• Excellent PC, mathematical, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated individual.
