About the position

The Zone Operations Specialist position at Subaru is a critical entry-level field role that provides exposure to various significant business areas, including Sales, Market Development, Marketing, Training, Fixed Operations, and Retail Operations. This role is designed to develop the skills necessary for progression into higher management positions such as Subaru Management Associate and District Manager. The position involves a variety of responsibilities that are essential for the overall success of the Zone, including the creation of presentations for key meetings, event management, and data analysis. In this role, the specialist will be responsible for creating decks for retailer Planning for Success (PFS) meetings, Executive Kick-off meetings, and Grassroots meetings. These meetings are crucial for establishing significant goals and business plans in areas such as retail sales, customer experience, and digital performance. The specialist will compile, organize, and analyze data to create these presentations, ensuring that all information is accurate and relevant. Additionally, the role includes managing events, which involves selecting vendors, managing creative executions, and controlling the inventory of promotional items. The specialist will also balance a significant budget, process invoices, and manage the activities of employee volunteers. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for successful event management. The position requires the ability to execute and communicate analytics of various programs and initiatives, ensuring that Retailers receive the necessary information to improve their business operations. The Zone Operations Specialist will also respond to special projects from upper management, utilizing various systems to create reports and perform data analytics. This position requires a significant amount of independent work, as the specialist will often be in the office while management-level staff are traveling. The role also involves updating sales estimates and analyzing vehicle sales trends, which are critical for the Zone's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create decks for retailer Planning for Success (PFS) meetings, Executive Kick-off meetings, and Grassroots meetings.
  • Manage events, including vendor selection and creative executions.
  • Control inventory management of promotional items and brochures.
  • Balance a significant budget and process vendor invoices.
  • Independently manage activities of employee volunteers and participating retailers.
  • Develop contingency plans for events and respond to unexpected incidents.
  • Execute and communicate analytics of program incentives and training initiatives.
  • Respond to and execute special projects from upper management.
  • Maintain functionality and efficiency of the zone office location.
  • Update National Field Operations with sales estimates and weekend traffic reports.

Requirements

  • 4-Year College Degree (BA, BS)
  • 2-4 years' experience in a related field
  • Ability to manage volunteer workers during events
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate-to-advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical skills in working with spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel frequently and overnight.
