1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use theService, and information from third-party sources.
Information You Provide to Us
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. You may also choose to provide a profile photo, phone number, location, and other optional information.
Career Content. When you use our career tools, we collect the content you create, upload, or input, including resumes and resume content (work history, education, skills, certifications), cover letters, job descriptions you save or analyze, notes, goals, and other career planning content, interview preparation materials, and job application tracking information.
Payment Information. If you subscribe to Teal+, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment card information. We receive only limited payment information such as the last four digits of your card, card type, and billing address.
Communications. When you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the content of those communications.
Information We Collect Automatically
Usage Information. We collect information about your interactions with the Service, including the features you use, the actions you take, the time, frequency, and duration of your activities, and the content you view or engage with.
Device and Connection Information. We collect information about the devices you use to access theService, including device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and unique device identifiers.

Information from Third Parties
LinkedIn Data. If you choose to import your LinkedIn profile, we receive your profile information directly from LinkedIn based on the permissions you grant.
Job Board Data. When you use our job search features, we may receive job listing information from third-party job boards and aggregators.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve the Service, including to create and maintain your account, process your subscription payments, provide our career tools (resume builder, job tracker, AI-powered suggestions), respond to your questions and requests, send you technical notices, updates, and administrative messages, and send you marketing communications (with your consent, where required).
We also use your information to analyze usage patterns to improve the Service, detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity, comply with legal obligations, and protect the rights and safety of Teal and our users.
3. AI-Powered Features
Teal uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to power certain features of the Service, including resume optimization suggestions and keyword analysis, job matching and recommendations, cover letter and content generation, and interview preparation assistance.
When you use AI-powered features, your content (such as resume text and job descriptions) is processed by our AI systems. We may use third-party AI service providers (such as OpenAI) to power these features. When we do, your content is sent to these providers for processing. We require our AI service providers to maintain appropriate security measures and to use your data only to provide services to us.
Your career content may be used to improve our AI models and services in an anonymized and aggregated form.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information in the following circumstances:
Service Providers. We share information with vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to perform services on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe), cloud hosting and infrastructure, analytics services, customer support tools, and email delivery services.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
Business Transfers. If Teal is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
