Prerequisites
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college-level institution is recommended but not required.
Two or more years of full-time work experience in computer information systems, data modeling, data planning, data definitions, metadata systems development, enterprise resource planning, systems analysis, application development and programming, or information technology management.
The CBIP exams require a solid understanding of data warehousing, business analytics, and business intelligence concepts.
Three exams must be passed to become certified: two mandatory (Information Systems Core and Data Warehousing) and one specialty exam (chosen from Business Analytics, Data Analysis and Design, Data Integration, Data and Information Quality, Leadership and Management, or Business Intelligence).
Continuing education: Recertification is required every three years, which involves earning a minimum of 120 continuing education credits.
