Prerequisites
A minimum of 10 years of work experience in the field of quality management, with at least 5 of those years in a decision-making position. This may be waived in part by a completed degree.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, which reduces the work experience requirement to 5 years, with at least 2 years in a decision-making position.
For those without a bachelor's degree, an associate degree or two years of equivalent higher education, which reduces the work experience requirement to 8 years, with at least 3 years in a decision-making role.
Demonstrated understanding and application of a variety of quality tools and processes, management and leadership principles, strategic planning, and customer relations.
Completion of an ASQ-approved training program or equivalent is recommended but not mandatory.
Passing the CMQ/OE examination, which assesses competency in the body of knowledge outlined by ASQ for this certification.
