Prerequisites
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is recommended but not mandatory.

Membership in the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) is recommended for access to resources and reduced exam fees.
Completion of the CPIM Learning System courseware is highly recommended to prepare for the exams.
Passing scores on two comprehensive exams: Part 1 – Basics of Supply Chain Management and Part 2 – Strategic Management of Resources, Master Planning of Resources, Detailed Scheduling and Planning, and Execution and Control of Operations.
Maintain the certification every five years through continuing education or retaking the exam.
