Prerequisites
A minimum of five years of work experience in the governance of enterprise IT (GEIT), with at least one year of experience relating to the definition, establishment, and management of a framework for the governance of IT.
Educational waivers of up to two years can be applied for those holding a master's or doctoral degree, with a specific number of years of experience required in certain areas of IT governance.
Agreement to adhere to the ISACA Code of Professional Ethics.
Agreement to comply with the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Policy, which requires maintaining and expanding skills and knowledge, along with an annual submission of CPE hours.
Passing the CGEIT examination, which covers five domains: Framework for the Governance of Enterprise IT, Strategic Management, Benefits Realization, Risk Optimization, and Resource Optimization.
Submission of the CGEIT application, including documentation of work experience, within five years from the date of initially passing the examination.
