Manager, Finance & Business Operations

Citizen is seeking a high-performing individual to join their Finance and Business Operations team. This role will involve providing financial support and business partnering across the organization, including accounts payable, investor relations, and legal contract analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial modeling, monitoring and tracking financial performance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. They will report to the Head of Finance and Business Operations and must possess strong execution skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.

• Own the financial forecasting and annual budgeting process by understanding business drivers and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Monitor and track financial performance, highlight areas of concerns or improvement
• Identify time- or cost-saving opportunities to drive improved financial performance
• Create business process and controls for the accounts payable workflow
• Review invoices for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and obtain necessary approvals
• Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements
• Prepare finance slides for board meetings highlighting variance to forecast and other key performance metrics
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date capitalization table in addition to facilitate new grant approval
• Participate in investor audits by providing relevant financial and operational records
• Analyze vendor contract terms and conditions, identify risks and opportunities, ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, track milestone deliverables, identify potential issues and take proactive measures to resolve them
• Collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate amendments and improvements.

• Strong financial modeling skills

• Familiarity with investor relations and ability to prepare finance slides for board meetings
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and up-to-date capitalization tables
• Experience in participating in investor audits and providing relevant financial and operational records
• Understanding of legal contract terms and conditions and ability to identify risks and opportunities
• Knowledge of maintaining accurate and up-to-date contract records and tracking milestone deliverables
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate amendments and improvements.

• Competitive salary range: $140,000 to $175,000 annually
