About the position

The job overview for the Sales Development Representative - Federal role at Censys is that the candidate will be responsible for building qualified pipelines of potential customers and shaping the future of the customer-facing teams. They will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to create targeted outreach strategies, collaborate on improving the outbound process, and develop creative solutions for building the outbound engine. The candidate will also be responsible for creating personalized email campaigns, articulating the value proposition and use cases of Censys, and maintaining accurate records of activities. Additionally, they will qualify inbound leads, work with federal partner organizations, and occasionally travel to industry conferences and partner events.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with sales and marketing to help create targeted outreach strategies for outbound prospects
  • Collaborate with the sales, solution engineering, and marketing teams to execute, strategize and improve the existing outbound process
  • Help the SDR team with creative solutions as they build the outbound engine
  • Create personalized email campaigns and enhance existing campaigns to engage with prospects and generate demand for products
  • Articulate the value proposition and use cases of the company's products, as well as educate prospects on the product offering over email and phone
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities and notes in Hubspot and Salesforce.com
  • Qualify all US federal and foreign government inbound leads
  • Work with federal partner organizations to facilitate opportunities
  • Occasionally travel to industry conferences and/or partner events to connect with prospects
  • Utilize contract registry systems, like SAM.gov, to research government needs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience
  • Ability to create targeted outreach strategies for outbound prospects
  • Collaboration with sales, solution engineering, and marketing teams to improve outbound process
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience in creating personalized email campaigns and enhancing existing campaigns
  • Strong communication skills to articulate value proposition and educate prospects on product offering
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records in Hubspot and Salesforce.com
  • Ability to qualify US federal and foreign government inbound leads
  • Experience in working with federal partner organizations to facilitate opportunities
  • Willingness to travel to industry conferences and partner events
  • Familiarity with contract registry systems like SAM.gov for government research
