About the position

The job overview for this role is that Bottomline is seeking a Business Development Manager in Zurich. The main responsibility of this role is to create, develop, and nurture a sales pipeline that leads to new business opportunities for the Financial Messaging business. The ideal candidate should have experience in selling solutions to Banks, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, and/or Multi-National Corporations. They should also have knowledge of domestic and cross-border messaging systems, SWIFT Connectivity, hosted/managed and cloud services, payment processes, cash visibility, reconciliation, systems integration, and sanction screening. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

  • Acquisition of new customers as well as new business through existing clients
  • Lead generation through market analysis, campaigns, prospect visits, cold-mails, cold-calls, and out of the existing and the to be expanded network
  • Identify, qualify and define potential target customers through evaluation of prospect requirements and development of a concise understanding of prospects’ decision-making processes and criteria
  • Analyse and understand customer insights and market trends; adapt and evolve acquisition and sales strategies based on these findings
  • Propose and discuss the sales strategy per single sales case with the regional sales manager
  • Develop and execute plans to achieve key business objectives defined in collaboration with regional sales manager and senior management
  • Development of relationships with decision-influencing, senior executives within prospect target customers
  • Lead the sales project from acquisition to contract negotiations up to conclusion of contracts
  • Account Management for selected and assigned clients
  • Develop and prepare sales documents and presentations for potential customers
  • Run presentations, if required with pre-sales, project managers, product/solution owners and technical personnel
  • Schedule meetings

Requirements
