About the position
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Web Experience team at SurveyMonkey. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and improving our React-based design system library, developing and maintaining build tools and software releases, mentoring others on software development practices, advocating for accessibility standards, and expanding our company adoption of TypeScript. This is an opportunity to collaborate closely with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to solve interesting challenges and shape innovative solutions with a far-reaching impact across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Implement and improve the React-based design system library
- Develop and maintain build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and software releases
- Mentor others on good software development practices
- Advocate for solutions that meet accessibility standards
- Expand the company adoption of TypeScript
- Collaborate closely with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers
- Solve interesting challenges with a far-reaching impact across the organization
- Shape innovative solutions and drive overall excellence
- Have proficiency in JavaScript (TypeScript a plus) and a strong understanding of its core concepts and modern features
- Have solid experience with the React framework
- Have proven expertise in build tools like Rollup or Webpack and CI/CD configuration
- Have a strong understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, accessibility, and responsive design
- Have experience with API design, such as GraphQL or REST
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proficiency in JavaScript (TypeScript a plus), with a strong understanding of its core concepts and modern features
- Solid experience with the React framework
