HOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT We are looking for a Cloud/Observability Engineer to ensure our systems are operating effectively at scale. As an Observability Engineer you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the stability, scalability, and performance of our rapidly evolving infrastructure. Candidate will work closely with cross functional teams, including software engineers, product managers and DevOps engineers to maintain and improve resilient systems.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • 6+ years of related experience
  • Documented experience developing and maintaining systems that allow for effective monitoring, logging, and tracing of applications.
  • Experience regularly analyzing system performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with detecting anomalies, troubleshooting incidents, monitoring system health and supporting compliance and security efforts.
  • Documented experience with monitoring and alerting best practices within a cloud native environment.
  • Associated tools: (CloudWatch, Icinga)
  • Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph Security Clearance Level
  • US Citizenship Required
  • After-hours on call rotation is a requirement for this position. It is normally one week at a time and rotates approximately every eight weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure systems are operating effectively at scale.
  • Maintain and enhance the stability, scalability, and performance of our rapidly evolving infrastructure.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, including software engineers, product managers and DevOps engineers to maintain and improve resilient systems.
  • Documented experience developing and maintaining systems that allow for effective monitoring, logging, and tracing of applications.
  • Regularly analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Detect anomalies, troubleshoot incidents, monitor system health and support compliance and security efforts.
  • Documented experience with monitoring and alerting best practices within a cloud native environment.
  • Utilize DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
  • Regularly review telemetry data and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies based on data.
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.
