Prerequisites
Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a pharmacy technician within the past 8 years.
Completion of at least 30 hours of continuing education (CE) within the last 2 years, 5 of which must be in pharmacy or drug law and regulations.
Completion of a minimum of 4 of the 5 certificate programs offered by the NHA, which are in areas such as medication history, medication therapy management, product verification, hazardous drug management, and billing and reimbursement.
Each certificate program may have its own prerequisites, such as work experience or prior training in the subject area.
