Mechanical Designer

As a CAD Designer at Helion, you will have the opportunity to work directly with the Engineering Team in developing and creating 3D models and technical drawings for their products. Your role will involve designing high-quality 3D models, creating detailed technical drawings, and collaborating with engineers to ensure design and production feasibility. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting design reviews and providing feedback to optimize design and production. This position requires expert proficiency in CAD software, strong attention to detail, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

- Design high-quality 3D models using CAD software, such as NX or SolidWorks - Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production - Collaborate with engineers to ensure design and production feasibility - Maintain and organize upper-level assemblies for the fusion machine, Polaris - Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to optimize design and production

- Expert proficiency in CAD software, such as NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD, with a demonstrated ability to create complex models and drawings - Significant experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software systems, and proven experience managing high level bills of material through various phases of the development cycle - Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a track record of producing high-quality work - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment - Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively - Advanced familiarity with GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) standards, with a demonstrated ability to apply these standards to complex designs - Experience with product design and development, particularly in the energy, aerospace, or manufacturing industries - Understanding of Mechanical and Structural fundamentals, with a proven ability to use hand-calcs and tolerance stack-ups to validate designs - Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, with a focus on optimizing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 5+ years of industry experience in CAD software and assembly management
