Senior Fullstack Engineer - Product Engineering

The role overview for this position is that of a Product Engineer at Gather, responsible for designing and implementing features for a live video chat platform, multiplayer game, and modern web app. The successful candidate will work closely with designers, product managers, and others within the company to quickly design, deliver, and iterate on features, with a focus on connecting users and making remote work a great experience within Gather. The role requires experience working with Typescript and NodeJS, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to ruthlessly prioritize in a chaotic and ambiguous environment.

• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to design, implement, and iterate on features and product directions
• Ability to quickly iterate on experiments while preventing technical lock-in
• Enable more powerful tools and remote work features to be used within Gather
• Level up our meeting experiences and create opportunities for moments of serendipity for Gather users
• Write maintainable, clear, well-architected code, tests, and documentation
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to ensure quality and good architecture
• Ability to ruthlessly prioritize in a chaotic and ambiguous environment
• A healthy tolerance for the balance between Doing Things Right and iterating and shipping quickly
• Experience working with Typescript and NodeJS
• A keen intuition for well-designed software and well-written code

• 4+ years of experience working with Typescript, React, and Redux
