Software Engineer III, Health

Babylist is seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer to join their Babylist Health team. The team is responsible for scaling technical systems and creating a user-friendly storefront to support Babylist Health's goals. The role involves leading business critical projects, making important decisions about system growth and scale, and working on strategic initiatives to expand health offerings. The ideal candidate is a high-performing engineer with experience delivering end-to-end solutions, has React and Ruby on Rails experience, and is passionate about driving impactful improvements. The role offers the opportunity to build systems that will scale Babylist Health and become a subject matter expert in health services.

• Build and scale the technical systems for Babylist Health
• Create a user-friendly storefront for Babylist Health
• Lead business critical projects and make important decisions about system growth and scalability
• Deliver end-to-end solutions that drive business growth
• Test, monitor, and run a production software system
• Develop skills in React and Ruby on Rails
• Identify gaps in team processes or execution and drive improvements
• Collaborate with the Product team to create new features in health services
• Share knowledge and expertise with the team
• Mentor team members through design and architecture planning, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions

• Experience delivering end-to-end solutions that drive business growth
• Thrives in a quickly growing environment and can lead business critical projects
• Experience testing, monitoring, and running a production software system
• Skilled in React and Ruby on Rails programming
• Passion for identifying gaps in team processes and driving improvements
• Past experience in e-commerce, healthcare payments, or consumer applications is a plus but not required
• Ability to build systems that can scale Babylist Health to $100M in revenue and beyond
• Subject matter expertise in health services and ability to define how services and features will grow and scale
• Collaboration with Product team to create new features in health, such as product education and comparison tools, automating user support flows, and expanding offerings provided via health insurance
• Willingness to share knowledge and expertise with the team and mentor other members
