Prerequisites

Successful completion of the Comprehensive Examination for Accreditation in Accountancy which covers financial accounting, reporting, statement preparation, taxation, business consulting practices, and ethics.
Agreement to abide by the ACAT Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Commitment to complete continuing professional education (CPE) requirements to maintain the certification.
For those without an accounting degree, completion of the ACAT's Accreditation in Accountancy Program may be required.
Membership in good standing with the ACAT or the National Society of Accountants (NSA).
