Developer Community Marketing Manager

The job overview for this role is that the company, Sentry, is seeking an experienced technical community marketing manager to establish impactful community programs and extend the reach of developer content. The main focus of this role is to drive the growth of the self-serve Sentry community by increasing audience reach and engagement through various channels and platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining community health metrics, managing strategic initiatives, engaging with active community members and partners, and organizing promotional launches. This role plays a crucial part in expanding the company's community and driving the success of their developer content.

Define community health metrics and share of voice.

Report community health metrics to influence content and engagement direction for technical advocates.

Define and manage strategic initiatives to grow our community:

Own the tactics around where and how Sentry engages with the community through content (e.g. blog, YouTube, resource pages) and social media platforms.

Collaborate with advocates, marketing, creative, and support to maintain an authentic voice and sustainable responsiveness.

Create a program to engage with active community members and partners in a strategic way to highlight community members while reaching new audiences.

Keep track of results/benchmarks and reporting out of community partnerships, deciding which partnerships to deepen/lessen.

Organize promotional launches from creating or sourcing content, building tracking, and partnering with the design team for production.

Extend the reach of content created for new platforms, mediums, and communities.

Develop and execute the developer content pipeline pre- and post- product announcements.

Create content “kits” that organizes and groups content from across Sentry.

• 8+ years of experience in developer community, developer relations, or developer marketing
• Proven track record of planning, delivering, and reporting on community campaigns
• Experience in building influencer marketing strategies for a brand
• Ability to define community health metrics and share of voice
• Strong understanding of various platforms and channels for community engagement
• Collaboration skills to work with advocates, marketing, creative, and support teams
• Ability to create programs to engage with active community members and partners
• Experience in organizing promotional launches and tracking results
• Cross-functional collaboration with demand generation, product marketing, events, and developer relations teams
• Strong writing skills and ability to tell a relevant story in a concise manner
• Project management skills to leverage multiple efforts for maximum impact
• Familiarity with KPIs and metrics for measuring community engagement and growth.

• Base salary range of $80,000 to $180,000
