About the position

As the QA Lead at Socialpoint, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards and delivering flawless gaming experiences to our players. You will lead and guide a team of QA specialists, implementing improvements, processes, and tools to achieve top-notch quality in our live games. Your role will involve owning the overall QA strategy, managing the team, and driving standard methodology. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to impact various areas of the project, such as improving development processes, bug management, and test automation. This key role reports directly to the Executive Producer and requires 5+ years of experience in QA for mobile F2P games, as well as experience leading a QA team in a live game environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to highest quality standards and deliver flawless experiences to players
  • Lead and guide a team of professional QA specialists to implement improvements, processes, and tools for top-notch quality in a live game
  • Own the quality direction for the team and lead efforts to improve quality metrics, practices, and tooling
  • Develop and implement overall QA strategy for the team
  • Manage people, allocate work, and handle upward stakeholder management
  • Drive standard methodology and stay updated with latest testing trends
  • Improve development processes from a quality perspective
  • Manage bug prevention, detection, and tracking
  • Reduce incidents and collect learnings through post mortems
  • Ensure quality is considered during pre-production of new features
  • Manage test suites and external test runs
  • Create short-, mid-, and long-term plans to improve quality metrics
  • Own the roadmap for the QA team
  • Support LiveOps team in delivering new content daily
  • Explore opportunities for test automation
  • Support direct reports in their professional growth
  • Maintain high level of motivation, engagement, and work/life balance in the team
  • Mentor, coach, and develop the team
  • Collect feedback and identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist in hiring and onboarding new talent
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Apply strategic thinking to assess situations, create plans, and execute them
  • Raise the quality bar for oneself and the team
  • Exhibit servant leadership to elevate the team
  • Audit testing approaches and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Identify risks to testing quality and develop solutions
  • Build positive working relationships with stakeholders and peers
  • Work with upper management and provide key facts and metrics
  • Collaborate effectively with others
  • Be proactive and self-driven
  • Manage offshore vendor teams effectively
  • Experience with managing bugs through JIRA (nice to have)
  • Experience with Testrails for managing test plans and runs (nice to have)
  • Work in an Agile development environment with cross-functional pods/squads (nice to have)
  • Create proposals and present them to stakeholders (nice to have)

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in QA for mobile F2P games
  • Experience with leading a QA team in a live game environment
  • Experience as people manager (i.e. you were responsible for direct reports)
  • Worked on a top grossing game with high-volume, fast-paced live ops
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
  • Strategic thinking: assessing the situation, creating plans & executing them
  • Constantly raising the quality bar for yourself and everyone around you
  • Servant leadership, being able to get your team to the next level
  • Audit testing approaches, provide detailed recommendations for improvement, and address tactical gaps
  • Identify risks to the quality of testing in the product, process, and people and then develop and execute on solving those challenges through internal and external resources
  • Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders and peers
  • Ability to work with upper management and supply key facts and metrics
  • Strong collaboration skills and works well with others
  • Proactive and self-driven
  • Proven track record of managing offshore vendor teams
  • Experience with managing bugs through JIRA
  • Managed test plans & runs with Testrails
  • Worked in an Agile development environment with cross-functional pods/squads
  • Created proposals, presented them to stakeholders
