Sr. Full Stack Engineer - Ruby on Rails and React JS

• Roll up sleeves and build software using Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, and React Native
• Ensure product is user-friendly, intuitive, and does not require training
• Collaborate with business, design, and customer support to shape the future of the product line
• Occasionally develop new products and codebases
• Work through ambiguity, identify issues, and offer suggestions based on experience
• Integrate internal calendar system with external platforms like Google Calendar
• Monitor and optimize API endpoints using APM software
• Address and fix bugs in React Native app
• Create custom chat experience using Twilio's Conversations API
• Implement drag and drop functionality in a to-do list
• Identify and fix issues in open source projects
• Enhance UI feedback with CSS3 and JavaScript animations
• Roll out new features behind beta flags and test with a select group
• Have an outsized impact on the success of the product and company
• Be proficient in Rails and/or React (or similar frameworks)
• Have experience in creating and shipping software in a production environment
• Demonstrate past experience in building products and leading teams
• Work remotely within US time zones
• Collaborate effectively with a diverse team in a distributed remote environment
• Possess leadership experience or a strong desire to be in a leadership role
• Play the role of a people leader and mini VPE (Vice President of Engineering)
• Know and grow a product or featureset and the team of engineers working on it
• Make day-to-day engineering decisions autonomously but collaborate when necessary
• Mentor and communicate effectively to make the team the best it can be
• May involve some people management, technical leadership, and occasional coding.

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and ReactJS, as well as familiarity with React Native
• Ability to work in a period of rapid growth and build software
• Strong focus on user experience and collaboration in software development
• Experience working closely with business, design, and customer support
• Ability to work through ambiguity, identify issues, and offer suggestions
• Experience with integrating calendar systems, monitoring and resolving API bottlenecks, addressing bugs, and creating custom chat experiences
• Knowledge of CSS3 and JavaScript animations
• Familiarity with open source projects and contributing fixes
• Experience in a production environment and ability to show or discuss past software creation and shipping
• Comfortable with remote work and ability to work during US time zones
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Leadership experience or desire to be in a leadership role, with understanding of responsibilities
• Ability to make day-to-day engineering decisions and collaborate with others when necessary
• Strong mentorship, communication, and facilitation skills for team development
