Sr. Full Stack Engineer - Ruby on Rails and React JS

You will be joining a rapidly growing company that utilizes Ruby on Rails and ReactJS technology to build web and mobile applications. The main focus of your role will be to collaborate with various teams to enhance the user experience and develop new products. Your experience and ability to work through ambiguity will be crucial in identifying and resolving issues. As a remote team member, effective communication and teamwork skills are essential.

• Roll up sleeves and build software using Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, and React Native
• Ensure product is user-friendly, intuitive, and requires no training
• Collaborate with business, design, and customer support to shape the future of the product line
• Occasionally develop new products and codebases
• Work through ambiguity, identify issues, and offer suggestions
• Integrate internal calendar system with Google Calendar and others
• Monitor and resolve bottlenecks in API endpoints
• Address user-reported bugs in React Native app
• Create custom chat experience using Twilio's Conversations API
• Implement drag and drop functionality in a to-do list
• Identify and fix issues in open source projects
• Add CSS3 and JavaScript animations for enhanced UI feedback
• Roll out new features behind a beta flag and test with a group
• Have an outsized impact on the success of the product and company
• Be proficient in Rails and/or React (or similar frameworks)
• Have experience creating and shipping software in a production environment
• Work well and communicate effectively with others in a collaborative, remote environment
• Have leadership experience or a strong desire to be in a leadership role
• Know and grow the product or featureset being worked on
• Make day-to-day decisions autonomously while knowing when to collaborate or seek help
• Guide projects from concept to buildable products
• Manage a team of up to 4 engineers and mentor them in technical and soft skills.

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and ReactJS, as well as familiarity with React Native
• Ability to work in a period of rapid growth and be proactive in building software
• Strong focus on user experience and collaboration with business, design, and customer support
• Experience in integrating systems, monitoring and resolving performance issues, and addressing user-reported bugs
• Familiarity with Twilio's Conversations API and creating custom chat experiences
• Knowledge of CSS3 and JavaScript animations for UI feedback
• Ability to work on new features and projects, including fixing issues in open source projects
• Proven experience in creating and shipping software in a production environment
• Comfortable working remotely and residing in the continental United States
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, especially in a distributed remote environment
• Leadership experience or a strong desire to be in a leadership role
• Ability to know and grow the product or featureset, and manage a team of up to 4 engineers
• Comfortable making day-to-day decisions and collaborating with other teams when necessary
• Experience in guiding projects from concept to completion and making engineering decisions based on constraints
• Mentoring skills in both technical and soft skills.

• Salary range of $72,000-$84,000
