Sr. Full Stack Engineer - Ruby on Rails and React JS

You will be joining a rapidly growing company that utilizes Ruby on Rails and ReactJS technology. Your main responsibility will be to build and improve our product, ensuring it is user-friendly and seamless. Collaboration with various teams, including business, design, and customer support, will be essential in shaping the future of our product line. Technical leadership experience or a strong desire to be in a leadership role is preferred. As a remote company, effective communication and teamwork are crucial in this distributed environment.

• Roll up sleeves and build software using Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, and React Native.
• Ensure the product is user-friendly, intuitive, and requires no training.
• Collaborate with business, design, and customer support to shape the future of the product line.
• Occasionally develop new products and codebases.
• Work through ambiguity, identify issues, and offer suggestions based on experience.
• Integrate internal calendar system with Google Calendar and others.
• Monitor and resolve bottlenecks in API endpoints.
• Address user-reported bugs in React Native app.
• Create custom chat experience using Twilio's Conversations API.
• Implement drag and drop functionality in a to-do list.
• Identify and fix issues in open source projects.
• Add CSS3 and JavaScript animations for enhanced UI feedback.
• Develop and roll out new features behind beta flags.
• Have an outsized impact on the success of the product and company.
• Be proficient in Rails, React, or similar frameworks.
• Have experience in creating and shipping software in a production environment.
• Demonstrate past experience building products.
• Reside in the continental United States and work during US time zones.
• Work and communicate effectively in a collaborative, remote environment.
• Have technical leadership experience or a strong desire to be in a technical leadership role.
• Play the role of a technical leader, knowing and growing a product or featureset.
• Make day-to-day engineering decisions and collaborate with other teams when necessary.
• Produce an amazing product and solve real-world problems for customers.
• Provide mentorship to the team without direct reports.

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and ReactJS, as well as familiarity with React Native
• Ability to work in a period of rapid growth and actively contribute to building software
• Strong focus on user experience and collaboration in software development
• Experience working closely with business, design, and customer support to shape product development
• Ability to work through ambiguity, identify issues, and offer suggestions based on experience
• Familiarity with integrating internal calendar systems with external platforms like Google Calendar
• Knowledge of APM software for monitoring and optimizing API performance
• Experience addressing and resolving bugs in React Native apps
• Familiarity with Twilio's Conversations API for creating custom chat experiences
• Ability to implement drag and drop functionality in web applications
• Experience contributing to open source projects and getting fixes approved and merged
• Proficiency in CSS3 and JavaScript animations for enhancing UI feedback
• Familiarity with beta testing and gradual feature rollouts
• Proven track record of productivity and ability to get things done
• Experience in creating and shipping software in a production environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote work setting
