Visual/Motion Designer

The job overview for this position is that Edge & Node is seeking a visual and motion designer to join their Design Team. The designer will be responsible for leading creative work streams, collaborating with other team members, and creating a range of design outputs including templates, components, motion guidelines, and more. They will also be involved in marketing efforts, community design, and upholding brand guidelines. The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio showcasing graphic and motion work, experience in motion/animation and illustration, and excellent skills with design applications. They should also possess strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as a high level of conceptual thinking and attention to detail.

• Leading creative work streams and crafting the brand approach through visuals and motion
• Collaborating with designers and other team members
• Creating a range of design outputs such as templates, components, design system assets, micro-animations, motion guidelines, video editing, interactive designs, brand guidelines, social media assets, presentations, etc.
• Creating beautiful and communicative content for blog posts, emails, keynotes, and social media
• Designing SWAG for the community (t-shirts, notebooks, etc.) and improving the experience for visitors at conference booths, hackathons, and other events
• Upholding brand guidelines while making innovative proposals for improvements
• Creating visual assets from rough briefs and ensuring the feasibility of designs
• Following and improving brands' design language and interaction
• Meeting deliverables and deadlines
• Thinking through design problems with partners and arriving at thoughtful solutions
• Giving feedback to others on the team and receiving feedback humbly

• Able to create visual assets from a sometimes rough brief and work with stakeholders to ensure feasibility of designs
