Senior Software Engineer (Typescript)

This position is for a Senior Software Engineer at Whispir, a communication intelligence company. The role involves working in an Agile development team and contributing to the design, evaluation, and planning of product features. The ideal candidate should have a deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node, and various AWS cloud services. They should also have experience with automation tools, CI/CD processes, and driving technical excellence. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for mentoring and guiding developers, as well as providing after-hours support when required.

• Contribute to work breakdown, design, evaluation, planning, and estimating product features
• Contribute to continuous improvement of practices and solutions
• Be an advocate for best practices and adoption of new technologies
• Support other members of the team on achieving team goals
• Take on challenging and complex coding tasks
• Contribute to all agile cadences of the team such as planning sessions and retrospectives
• Work within your development plan to build and extend your technical and non-technical skills
• Provide after-hours support as part of our application teams weekly support roster, when required
• Mentor and guide developers to achieve their full potential in contributing to the success of our projects
• Great knowledge of software design and architecture
• Ability to explain, discuss, and document complex technical concepts
• Ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Solid experience with CI/CD
• Some experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform)
• Some experience with AWS and Server-less Architectures
• Some experience with driving for technical excellence and improvements

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for both frontend (React) and backend (Node) development
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as APIGW, dynamoDB, and Lambda
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform and CI/CD processes
• Strong knowledge of software design and architecture
• Ability to explain, discuss, and document complex technical concepts
• Ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Solid experience with CI/CD
• Some experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
• Some experience with AWS and Serverless Architectures
• Ability to drive for technical excellence and improvements
